On the evening of September 19th, the unveiling ceremony of ten of the most iconic EU-China GIs was held in Luzhou. Ten China-EU GI products, namely Zhouzhi Kiwifruit, Jinhua Ham, Gannan Navel Orange, Luzhou Laojiao Liquor, Yingde Black Tea, Barolo, Feta, Armagnac, Českobudějovické pivo, Irish cream, were recommended as the most iconic EU-China GIs by expert home and abroad after two-months comprehensive screening.

Pan Feng, Vice-Chairman of CEATEC, and Wojciech Ptak, Counsellor for Agriculture of the EU Delegation to China, presented awards to the selected products. Product representatives, namely Fu Yuwei, Director of Zhouzhi County Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Zhang Jianeng, Executive Director and General Manager of Zhejiang Jinhua Ham Co., Ltd., Wang Quanwei, deputy director of Xinfeng County Fruit Industry Development and Service Center, He Cheng, Deputy General Manager and Chief Quality Officer of Luzhou Laojiao Co., Ltd., Chen Jinsong, Secretary-General of Guangdong Geographical Indications Association, Joseph Keating, the Irish Commercial Counsellor in China, Ondrej Placek, Czech Agricultural Counselor in China, Jerome Tafani, Director of Sartirano Figli Cantine & Vigneti SRL, Papassinos Bletas Nico, Director General of Hellenic Chinese Business Chamber, Li Teng, Representative of Armagnac, receive the award.

The second International Geographical Indications Products Expo was held in liquor city Luzhou on September 19th. More than 3000 products from more than 800 enterprises at home and abroad were displayed. The Expo continues using the theme of “strengthen the protection of geographical indications and promote high-quality industrial development”, aiming to advance the trading of geographical indication products, technical exchange, information interaction, cultural integration and investment promotion.
